The majority of Internet degree mills are “accredited.” The problem is that they are accredited by bogus agencies that they themselves have created. On December 15, 2005, CNN aired a report on diploma mills and terrorism. The report explained that "H-1B visas can be issued to anyone who is highly skilled and can get a job in the U.S. McDevitt is concerned a phony advanced degree could be the first step for someone in a terrorist sleeper cell."
